Summer Enrichment Camps at PILEA Play! Join us this summer for playful learning! These camps are run and facilitated by certified career educators with a passion for playful, child-led learning. Inspired by Montessori and Reggio pedagogy, our camps will actively engage your child in practical life skills and academics through play, art and tinkering. Our camps are designed for elementary aged children ages 5-11. Our camps are also community centered, intentionally offering opportunities for children to explore, learn about, and participate in their local community. Each week will include at least one walking field trip to a Multnomah Village business, service, or park. After the visit the children will engage in meaningful projects and play inspired by their visit. For example, if we visit Healthy Pets NW, we might investigate/research pet care and create a guide for new pet owners that Healthy Pets can distribute to customers interested in owning a pet. We might have visits that week from unusual pets, do a Q&A with a veterinarian or dog breeder, or interview a dog trainer, etc. Our environment will be curated for play around the topic of interest or local visit, supporting the campers in discovering stories, investigating questions, and snapping ideas together. Our daily rhythm will be influenced by the unique group of campers each week, but will follow a daily structure of: Welcome activity and gathering Open-ended play inspired by our visit or project Group Snack Walking field trip or structured group activities Closing Circle Monday through Friday 1-4PM. We are still making arrangements for our walking field trips each week, and will be adding to the list but for now we already have plans for the following: Parks: Spring Garden Park Gabriel Park Multnomah Arts Center Businesses: Healthy Pets NW Sarah Bellum's Cupcakes Yalla CommunityPDX Annie Blooms Books Sit Stay Fit Village Ice Cream Factory All campers will need to purchase a camp shirt for $20 (same shirt for all sessions). Cancelation Policy

For Open Plays, we are happy to refund 100% w/24 hours notice. Under 24 hours notice, we may be able to transfer your reservation to another day. For Private rentals, we can offer a full refund (minus our transaction fee 2.9%+$0.30) up to 3 weeks before your reservation. We can offer 50% refund up to 2 weeks before your reservation and 25% up to 1 week before your reservation. If your reservation is within 7 days and you need to cancel, we may be able to move your reservation to another day.
